'Born to Run' Author Christopher McDougall Interview

My coach, Steve Mackel, did a short interview with Christopher McDougall, the author of 'Born To Run'.

I've heard nothing but good things about this book so I was really interested in seeing what the author had to say.

The Green Girl Will Run In The Chinese New Year

The Green Girl will be doing the Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker 5k Run on Sunday.

And by run, I mean I will be walking and jogging it. I haven't really run this year but I've been wanting to do this race for a few years now.

Conquer The Canyon

On September 23 - 26, 2010, Team Angelman Syndrome Foundation (ASF) will be training and traveling to Conquer The Grand Canyon.

Angelman Syndrome is a genetic disorder. Characteristic features of this condition include developmental delay, speech impairment, and problems with movement and balance (ataxia).

Angels have a happy demeanor and laugh easily. While Angels cannot speak, they do have much to say.

My 9 year old niece, Jade, has Angelman Syndrome. She is non-verbal but communicates using the American Sign Language (ASL) she is learning.

I wish I could particpate in this but it's a month away from my trip to Athens. I hope they offer this opportunity next year.

The Green Girl Is Going To Athens

The Green Girl is going to do the Athens Classic Marathon for the 2500th anniversary of the legend of Marathon this year. I've never been to Greece and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to finally visit the country.

I didn't end up doing the Surf City USA Half Marathon. I wasn't prepared and I didn't want to get sick because I've been battling one illness after another recently.

My highest priority right now is staying healthy and not pushing myself too much.

Penny For Your Thoughts

The Green Girl is selling Angelman Syndrome Awareness elongated pennies to help raise money and spread awareness for Angelman Syndrome.

Elongated Coins are coins that have been elongated (flattened or stretched) and embossed with a design to create a commemorative or souvenir token.

The proceeds from the sale of these pennies will benefit the Angelman Syndrome Foundation's research fund.
